Odessa, TX (Big 2 News) - A new non profit in Odessa celebrated its groundbreaking Thursday.
Faith Temple Fellowship broke ground on Jesus House in 1300 block of 6th st.
It will soon be actually seven buildings dedicated to helping those in need.
Pastor Donny Kiker tells us that the Jesus House will be a respite for those needing a place to stay and that he knows there is a need for a place like this.
Pastor Kiker says, "It was years ago, we had many, probably hundreds of homeless people in one little area that the city didn't even know about. That we were quietly taking care of. Then over a period of time they moved on. Some actually got restored back to their families."
Faith Temple Fellowship already runs a transitional facility for men, but it only has room for six men at a time.
Pastor Kiker says his program has been successful and he is now reaching out to help women too.
