Ector Co. Bans Certain Fireworks Ahead of 4th of July

Ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, Ector County moves to ban some fireworks.
ECTOR COUNTY (Local Big 2 News) -- Ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, Ector County moves to ban some fireworks.

Ector County commissioners approved a temporary ban on certain fireworks Monday. The ban prohibits "sky rockets with sticks" and "missiles with fins."

The firework ban expires July 5th.

Commissioners also voted to enact a 90 day burn ban.

Ector County is now one of more than a dozen West Texas counties with an active burn ban, according to the Texas Forest Service.
