ODESSA -- The City of Odessa receives two grants annually from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD): Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME). The U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has informed the City that based upon the 2013 CDBG allocation to estimate the 2014 allocation to be approximately $799,585. In addition, there is $99,529.99 in unprogrammed CDBG funds from the previous 2010, 2011, and 2012 program years to be reallocated. The City’s estimated 2014 HOME allocation based off of 2013 amounts is $227,777. There is an additional $172,081 of HOME program income collected from 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 program years to be reallocated. HUD designates the HOME funds specifically for housing activities.

In an effort to prepare the 2014 Action Plan, it is important that citizens and organizations participate in this important planning process in order to address community needs. The Community Development Department will conduct public hearings to notify the public of federal funds available for the 2014 program year.

Comments concerning the 2014 Action Plan and requests for funding may be made at any public hearing. All interested parties seeking Community Development Block Grant funds are required to submit an application for funding.
