Caitlin Crawford is currently a photographer and production assistant at KMID Big 2 News with aspirations to become a reporter. She is very passionate about making a difference in the community through visual storytelling and news. She began her career at KMID in June of 2014 editing and operating in house studio cameras. Within a month of her time working at Big 2, she took on a photographer position as well.

A native Texan herself, Caitlin is thrilled to join the Big 2 News team and take part in serving the Permian Basin. She was born and raised in Dallas, TX, and she graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a major in Journalism and Mass Communication - Broadcast and Electronic Media, with emphasis on international enterprises.

She has interned with the Dallas Cowboys, KWTV News 9 in Oklahoma City, and Power Public Relations in Dallas, TX. She’s written scripts for Good Morning Texas, produced, reported, & edited for Cowboys TV shows airing on Fox Sports Southwest and CBS 11. She was also a feature producer/reporter for the Sooner Network. After interning for the Dallas Cowboys for two years, she worked under contract for the 2013 season covering everything from training camp to charity events to weekly player spotlights. With the arrival of the off season, she was looking for an opportunity in a newsroom and couldn’t be more excited to be here in the Permian Basin!

When she’s not working, she enjoys running marathons, cooking, music, and missionary work. Caitlin is always looking for story ideas, so feel free to contact her at ccrawford@kmid.tv
