Andrews Shows Resiliency for 2nd Straight Year; Move on to Area Round

Andrews lost their starting quarterback Shane Dolgener for the 2nd consecutive year. But once again the Mustangs showed resiliency and are now in the Area Round of the playoffs.
Andrews lost their starting quarterback Shane Dolgener to a knee injury for the 2nd consecutive season. With the Mustangs losers of five straight games, something needed to change and fast if the Mustangs wanted to return to the post season.

Jace Hammock stepped in to replace his good friend, and once again Hammock delivered. Andrews went to Lubbock and knocked off a very solid Estacado team 47-21. Then battled Seminole in the regular season finale and came out on top with a 21-20 victory that landed them in the Bi-District round of the playoffs.

The Mustangs defeated Borger 20-11 and now have a rematch with the Big Spring Steers, who defeated them earlier in the year 61-48.

Andrews head coach Ralph Mason talked with Big 2 Sports about how proud he is of his kids, saying "You just can't say enough about the kids. At any point in time it would've been easy for them to just fold the tent and write this season off. But we haven't done that and I don't think our kids are planning on writing it off yet. They're ready and excited to play this game too."
