A Murder In The Quiet Community Of Gardendale

A 22 year old mother murdered in her own home. Authorities say her common law husband killed her and the Gardendale community is shocked by the news.
GARDENDALE, TX (Local Big 2 News) -- A 22-year old mother murdered in her own home. Authorities found her dead Friday morning and say her common law husband killed her. The Gardendale community is shocked by this news.

"I thought why, why this young girl," said Gardendale resident Len Redmon.

Yellow caution tape surrounded this home in Gardendale for hours. Not a color you want to see on the Fourth of July.

"We don't have a lot of problems here in Gardendale," said Redmon.

Authorities found 22 year old Alexandra Kennedy dead here inside her home on Camelia lane Friday morning.
Ector County Sherrif officials say she was murdered.

"The age of this young girl, I mean it's very very sad," said Redmon.

Len Redmon lives in Gardendale, and has for fourteen years.

"I was very shocked, because those kinds of things just don't normally happen here," said Redmon.

Ector County Sherrif deputies say Kennedy's common law husband, Danny Munguia, murdered Kennedy.
Officials say, he admitted he assaulted her, and that he was responsible for her death.

"I don't know what's in people's hearts anymore," said Redmon.

Neighbors tell me Kennedy will always be remembered as a loving person, who rescued animals in her spare time.
But she leaves more than the memory of her life, she leaves behind her five month old daughter, Adalina.
