Wink looks to make another playoff run in 2014.

Wink went 8 and 4 last season, and was a 1A Division Two area finalist. The wildcats have the same goals every year, and will try to accomplish those because of this skill.

"We're fast. We're faster than we've been since I've been at Wink. We got some kids that can run well. We're hurting on depth so we gotta stay healthy," said Wink head coach Andy Hrncir.

First year starting quarterback Eli Augusta agrees.

"We're just going to have to use our speed and get outside this year. This year it's going to be different. It's not going to be a pound and inside so we're going to have to move the ball outside and try and score that way," said Augusta.

Augusta earned all district honors as a wide receiver last season, but coach Hrncir think he'll be a focal point behind center this year.

"This team is a little different because they're younger. We gotta new quarterback this year in Eli Augusta. Whose got some big shoes to fill. He's going to do a great job for us," said Augusta.

Now the goal for Wink in 2014 is quite clear.

"We're fighting for a district championship like it is every year. We've had some success the last few years. We've got a tough district we're in our kids are excited about it. We've come off some success and that helps around here," said Hrncir.

"This team is very special because we communicate and we do get together so we will mature faster and try to win as many football games as we can," said Augusta.
