Rankin looks to make 2014 another successful season.

Rankin went 9-2 last season, and was a bi district finalist. But the red devils have 10 out of 12 starters returning from last year!

"Just being in the system for a year helps these kids they come in already ahead where last year they were coming in and they were just learning the system," said head coach Kevin Ray.

Coach Ray says the red devils look the part, but it's all about how they respond.

"We have the physical capability of being very good. It's just going to be how tough those kids are and how they fight through the tough times," said Ray.

The red devils aim to accomplish many goals this season.

"We know we're going to state this year. We're all working as a team this year and we're not fighting and everybody knows we have to work as a team if we want to make it further," said senior running back John Rodriguez.

Coach Ray has the same attitude as his running back.

"You shoot for the top. There's no reason to come in here and expect eight or nine wins. I expect to win the state championship this year," said Ray.
