Grady has all twelve of its starters returning from last year. Do the wildcats have what it takes to win district?
LENORAH, TX- (Local Big 2 Sports)

Grady went 7 and 5 last year, and was an area finalist. This season the wildcats have 6 starters returning on offense and defense, which gives them quite the advantage.

"Play polish and being a little further along this earlier in the year then we were last couple of years. Experience is a good thing," said head coach Chris Kuykendall.

Senior running back E.J. Rodriquez said all those starters benefits the team in the clutch.

"It helps us a lot because we have a lot of experienced players and I know it'll get us to understand that when big moments happen that we'll be able to finish through," said Rodriquez.

Rodriquez passed and rushed for more than 3,000 yards last season. He describes his play with three words.

"Speed and agility. Kind of a lot of quickness and moving around," said Rodriquez.

His head coach spells it out like this.

"He's been at the state track meet the last two years part of our state championship track team and he's a load to bring down and when you get that much weight moving that fast that tends to make him a difficult back to tackle," said Kuykendall.

With all their experience and talent., can the wildcats win district?

"We're definitely going to have a better shot this year I think but it's going to boil down to playing the game on Friday night," said Kuykendall.
