30 in 15: Forsan Buffaloes

Forsan looks to make a deep run in the playoffs in 2014.

Forsan went 4-7 last year, and 2- 2 in district to become a bi district finalist. Junior quarterback Jesse Cervantes returns, and got great experience last season.

"Really helped. I knew it was going to carry into this year because the experience and receivers I have. We have a great amount of skill people and really looking forward to what they have for us," said Cervantes.

Coach Phillips says Jesse has matured.

"Different Jesse this year than he was last year. He's taken on more of a leadership role on offense. The experience last year was great for him," said head coach Jason Phillips.

Coaches never like to admit a weakness, but what about a question mark?

"We have a lot of guys that had playing time last year at the varsity level but we've moved some of them around and it's gonna be interesting to see how that unfolds the guys in new positions," said Phillips.

So the buffaloes have experience, but in a way they don't. The expectations for 2014?

"We have the potential to go 10-0. Undefeated in our district," said Cervantes.

Coach Phillips thinks a lot like his quarterback.

"To win district and to make the playoffs and that's the same but we've been to the playoffs three years but we're without a playoff win so that's our number one goal," said Phillips.
