Crane went 10-2 last season, and 4 and 1 in district. This season brings a new beginning and a new quarterback....Jake Morgan.

"Jake's a coaches kid. He's been around it a long time. Jake's been in our program since the 7th grade. He knows and understands the system. That's a huge advantage for us," said head coach Naldo Esparza.

Jake has been around the game a lot since he was really little.

"I've been playing QB since I was in Pee Wee football over in Odessa and it's been fun. I guess it's just how I think. I make pretty good decisions so I guess that helps out the team around me," said Morgan.

Now even though Crane put up double digit wins last season, the focus is on this season.

"You can't replace that. The momentum coming off a 10-2 season is good and I think the kids are ready to try and do that again," said Esparza.

The golden cranes rich history allows for sustained success.

"Tradition. Crane's been churning out good football teams for a long time now. Our kids know and understand that. Our number one goal is to try and win the district championship," said Esparza.

Coach and quarterback think a like.

"Our mindset right now is to have a really good district run and make a pretty deep run in the playoffs and keep Crane on that winning rout," said Morgan.
