UPDATE: City Of Andrews Will Vote On Ordinances Regulating The Sale Of Alcohol

Before Andrews can go wet, the city could be passing ordinances regulating the sale of alcohol.
UPDATE: The city council approved an ordinance Wednesday night that prohibits businesses from selling alcohol within 300 feet of a hospital, church or daycare.

The ordinance also says that the sale of alcohol is not allowed in residential and single family zones.

Businesses can now apply for a permit to sell alcohol.

ANDREWS -- Before Andrews can go wet, the city could be passing ordinances regulating the sale of alcohol.

On November 13, the city council is set to vote on the distance that businesses selling alcohol will have to keep from hospitals, churches, schools and daycares.

The city of Andrews says that the state requires business selling alcohol maintain a distance of 300 feet from these structures.

Residents approved two propositions on Tuesday turning Andrews from dry to wet.
