Christmas For OUR Troops Asks For Your Help to Salute Troops

One local non profit is already working to giving troops overseas a Christmas salute.
MIDLAND -- One local non profit is already working to giving troops overseas a Christmas salute.

Christmas for OUR Troops was founded in 2004, and over the past nine years the organization has sent more than 12,000 care pakages to soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The organization is run completely through volunteers, and founder, Scott Davis says the point is simple, to remind our service members that they're thought of and appreciated, but that's not his ultimate goal.

"What I really hope, I hope it goes away, I hope we don't have any more troops in combat, I mean that's the best scenario I can think of, is all these men and women come home."

Christmas for OUR Troops is looking for donations to fill the estimated 2,500 care packages the organization plans to send out this year.
