MIDLAND -- Presidio County hospital directors shot down a proposal for a new nursing home in Alpine.
That's according to a report by the Big Bend Now.
The paper says the measure was split along county lines, with two board members from Presidio opposing and two from Alpine in favor.
The absence of one board member from Marathon caused the motion to fail.
The Alpine Valley Care Center nursing home closed in January of 2012 leaving a need for a new facility.
