ANDREWS -- After a petition drive and getting enough signatures the Andrews Expansion Council is reporting that the Andrews City Council will vote to place alcohol measures on the ballot for November at their upcoming meeting on August 22,2013.

The Expansion Council says one of the petitions seeks to legalize packaged beer & wine sales in stores while the other hopes to allow mixed beverages to be served inside restaurants. The Andrews Expansion Council, a PAC created in support of the wet movement, hired a consulting firm which conducted the petition drives.

That effort was paid for with a $24,000 contribution from Stripe's and a $10,000 contribution from EZ Mart.
