Airplane Lands at Wrong Airport

A Southwest Airlines jet landed at the wrong airport in Missouri Sunday night.
TANEY COUNTY, MO -- A Southwest Airlines jet landed at the wrong airport in Missouri Sunday night. According to Airline officials, the plane was supposed to land at Branson Airport.

Instead, it showed up at the Taney County airport -- which has a significantly shorter runway. The two airports are about seven miles apart. The Boeing 737-700 - which departed from Chicago - landed safely with 124 passengers and five crew members on board.

The federal aviation administration is investigating how it ended up at the wrong airport.
