Permian Basin Gun Show

Odessa, TX (Big 2 News) - The Permian Basin Gun show had more than just rifles and hand guns.
Odessa, TX (Big 2 News) - The Permian Basin Gun Show had more than just rifles and hand guns.

The gun show also had several booths filled with coins, knives and even jewelry.

Organizers say the Permian Basin Gun Show gives people a chance to see items that you don't normally see in West Texas.

They add it even brings in a bit of history, allowing you to compare assault weapons and antique guns.

The show also gives people the option of buying or trading in their guns.

Kaye Mauldin, owner of Kaye CHL's, teaches concealed handgun classes and was one of the local vendors at the gun show.

She says it's great way to have some comradery.

"We offer a service to the community for concealed hand guns and it's nice that everybody in Texas can own a gun and protect themselves. And this is one way for us to get our business out there and get everybody that can be protected, protected," Mauldin said.

Organizers of the event say what makes the gun show, is the community that is drawn in; a community with similar interests ranging from gun collectors to avid hunters.

Show organizers say the next gun show is scheduled for March.
