SANTA FE COUNTY -- New Mexico health officials are reporting the first flu death of the 2013-2014 season.
The New Mexico department of health reports that a 76 year old woman from Santa Fe county has passed away from the flu.
Officials say the predominant flu strain this season is the H1N1, also known as swine flu.
They say the best defense is to get vaccinated.
