Drunk Driving Victim To Be Taken Off Life Support

An alleged drunk driving crash sent seven people to the hospital to be treated for injuries, including one man who's been left in a coma.
UPDATE: Police tell Big 2 News, Vizcayno was arrested Friday evening. He's facing two counts of intoxication assault.


ODESSA -- A total of seven people were sent to the hospital to be treated for injuries, leaving one man in a coma.

The accident left one man in a coma, who will be taken off life support today.

And now that family is asking for help in locating the drunk driver that caused the accident.

Police are searching for Edwardo Vizcayno.

They say he caused an accident that sent seven people to the hospital.

Reports show 28-year-old Vizcayno was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.

It happened in the 5200 block of east University.

It's possible that Vizcayno ran a red light, striking a suburban carrying ten individuals traveling northbound on the east Loop of 338.

One man was left in a coma from that accident.

Today family tells me they are taking him off life support.

They want Vizcayno caught they are asking for justice to be served.

Police say two warrants for intoxication assault are out for his arrest but, police need the public's help in finding him.

"Anyone with information on his whereabouts in encouraged to contact the Odessa Police Department, specifically the traffic unit or contact the Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS," said, Cpl. Steve LeSueur, public information officer for the Odessa Police Department

The family released a statement saying:

"It's so hard for our family to start off the new year with a loss of a loved one.

As in every family when something like this happens all we can do is pray for justice.

I ask you please keep my family in your prayers.

Thank you."

Police tell me there are still a lot of questions that need to be answered.

The investigation is on still on-going.
