MIDLAND -- Autumn Vest, who was director of the Commemorative Air Force museum until recently, has left that job to take a new position as executive director of the Sibley Nature Center.
This move comes amidst rumors that the C.A.F. Might eventually leave Midland.
Vest says that this isn't really a big deal, it's a move that she feels is best for her.
I had a great opportunity to move up in leadership and forward with my career in nonprofit management. The Sibley has a wonderful mission that I am excited to support. The C.A.F. continues to be an important part of my life and I am 100% in support of the museum and the C.A.F."
State representative Tom Craddick has been extremely critical of the C.A.F. lately. He doesn't want them to leave Midland. He was not available for comment.
The C.A.F. has said on numerous occasions that they plan on honoring their contract with the city of Midland through January 2017.
They have not said what their plans are after that.
