UPDATE: Odessa Teen Shoot; Police Arrest Suspect

Early Monday morning, officers responded to the 1300 block of Lindberg in reference to a gunshot victim.
UPDATE:

An arrest has been made in connection to the gunshot victim in the 1300 block of Lindberg. On April 22, 2014, Emily Mata voluntarily came to the Odessa Police Department to meet with investigators.

Based on the facts and circumstances surrounding the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Mata, for Aggravated Robbery, a 1st Degree Felony. Mata was arrested and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

The investigation is ongoing.


ODESSA -- Police continue to search for a "person of interest" in a shooting.

Police are looking for Emily Mata, 22.

Officers says she is a "person of interest" in the shooting that left Alex Reyna, 18, badly injured.

Early Monday morning, officers responded to the 1300 block of Lindberg in reference to a gunshot victim. Investigation revealed that an Alex Reyna, 18 years of age, had been shot. Reyna was transported to Medical Center Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers notified the Crimes Against Persons, Robbery/Homicide Unit, who responded to the scene.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. At this time, investigators are searching for Emily Mata, date of birth 03/18/1992, who is considered a person of interest. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS or the Odessa Police Department at 432-333-3641.

The investigation is ongoing.
