United Way Of Odessa Holds Annual Meeting

The United Way of Odessa recognized volunteers who make the organization so successful today.
Odessa, TX (Big 2 News) - The United Way of Odessa recognized volunteers who make the organization so successful today.

This was at the non profit's annual meeting which was held at the MCM Elegante Tuesday morning.

The United Way provides funding for 22 agencies in the Odessa area.

Representatives from each of these agencies attended the meeting Tuesday.

Besides just a financial review of the last year, United Way organizers say this annual meeting gives them a chance to thank those agencies.

Tom Pursel, Executive Director of the United Way Odessa said, "Last year, those agencies provided services for over 48,000 Odessans. That's amazing, in a city that's just over 100,000 almost half of the people have used one of the services that's provided by the United Way."

These agencies include the American Red Cross, Boy Scouts and CASA of the Permian Basin, among others.

In total, the United Way donated more than $1.2M to community programs in odessa last year.
