Two Killed in Separate Crashes in Andrews

Separate crashes have left two people dead this weekend in Andrews County, the Department of Public Safety said.

The first crash happened Saturday night on SH-115, 4.4 miles southwest of Andrews, according to authorities.

Debra Sue Lanning, 54, from Kermit, was killed after she veered off the roadway and overcorrected, DPS said.

Her car overturned and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the second accident, Azael Luiton, 26, from Brownsville, was killed as he too, veered off the roadway and overcorrected, DPS said.

The crash happened on US-385, three miles south of Andrews. His car overturned and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither one of the drivers was wearing a seat-belt at the time of the crash, authorities said.
