MIDLAND, TX (BIG 2 NEWS) -- A style show Thursday afternoon showed off more than the latest trends. The annual Midland Need to Read style show raised money to help improve literacy in the Tall City.

The 12th Annual Style show presented by WTNB benefiting Midland Need to Read will take place on Thursday, May 8th at Midland Country Club. A few of Midland's local lady celebrities will model runway worthy outfits which they themselves hand-picked and styled from selections provided by The Boutique II. "Knowledge and helping others is always fashionable." Savannah Davis, Midland Need to Read Board President, event Co-Chair and wife of Nick Davis, Vice President Commercial and Industrial Lending at West Texas National Bank.

There will be style themed items and other pieces available at the silent auction that will take place during the event. All monies raised will go to support adult education in Midland. Additionally, raffle tickets are included with table sponsorships so there are many chances to win and see the winning spirit of others…

Key note speeches will be given by Midland Need to Read clients who have graciously offered to share their personal stories about how the educational programs, staff and volunteers and have made a difference in their life.

Midland Need to Read is a nonprofit organization dedicated to meeting the need for adult education in our community. With the help of generous donors and volunteers, they provide free educational resources to Midlands's 17+ willing to ask for help and put forth the effort to learn. Programs include a wide variety of subject matters including GED prep, reading/writing, ESL, citizenship training, driver education, as well as financial, computer and health literacy.
