Odessa, TX (Local Big 2 News) - Parents looking for extra resources to help with special needs children were given helpful information Saturday.

The Special Needs Symposium was hosted by the Partner's Resource Network's PEN Project.

Nearly a hundred children and participants were at the fair.

Parents had a chance to hear from speakers from the Region 18 Education Service Center as well as a speaker from the Department of State Health Services.

Organizers of the event tell Local Big 2 parents were able to learn more about their children's disabilities and the services offered.

"parents finding services that fit their child's needs that they didn't know existed," said Amanda Chandler, regional coordinator for the partners resource network pen project.

Chandler says everyone at the fair has a common goal of helping children with special needs.

Event organizers says the free, full day symposium will be held over West Texas throughout the year.
