Safari Club Donates to Wildlife Research & Management

Tens of thousands of dollars is going wildlife research and management in the Big Bend Region, thanks to the West Texas Safari Club.
MIDLAND/ODESSA -- Tens of thousands of dollars is going to wildlife research and management in the Big Bend Region, thanks to the West Texas Safari Club.

The local chapter of Safari Club International gave two checks totaling $60,000 to the Borderlands Research Institute of Sul Ross State University.

The Safari Club presented a $35,000 check to the Desert Bighorn Sheep Restoration Project and a $25,000 check for scholarships.

The money was raised and the checks presented on Saturday, at 2014 West Texas Hunting Extravaganza, which was held at the CAF.
