Odessa, TX (Big 2 News) - A three-month-old infant found unconscious and not breathing. This, according to Odessa Police.

In the 3100 block of N. Dixie early Tuesday morning, a call was received shortly after 5 a. m.

"Upon arrival, officers observed the male infant and notified the crime against persons unit," said Cpl. Steve LeSueur, public information officer for the Odessa Police Department.

Police officials say when they arrived, the infant seemed to be deceased.

"It's unknown on what caused the baby to die," LeSueur said.

Sharlette Deleon lives nearby, she described to me what she knew about the incident

"It's an unfortunate accident if it was an accident but if he was murdered then someone doesn't have a heart obviously 'cause that's really sad," Deleon said.

Soon after police arrived at the scene, further units were called in for examination on the infant.

"The Medical Examiner's office then responded to the scene and pronounced the infant death."

The infant's body will be sent to Tarrant County for an autopsy.

"I thought it was like on the other part of town 'cause there's a lot of stuff that happens over there but I just thought it was really sad 'cause you see a lot of that stuff, babies dying and it's just crazy 'cause it's like everyday," Deleon said.
