The Odessa Police Department will target three areas in the city, where they will have extra enforcement on traffic violations this week.

The police department said “traffic enforcement will be increased in an effort to gain traffic law compliance.”

The three areas where police presence will be increased include the 2700–4100 blocks of North Grandview, the 2200–2700 blocks of North County Road West and the 3800–4100 blocks of East 42nd Street.

The department is calling it the “safe zones,” and they will target different ones every week. OPD said they will release the different locations every week.

Officers on patrol will pay close attention to red light, stop sign, speeding and other moving violations.
