Five generations of the Bradshaw family celebrated Boyce Bradshaw’s 100th birthday this weekend.

“Work and pray,” said Bradshaw. That is her key to success.

Her family agrees and is inspired to do the same.

"There is not too many people in today's world with all the high pace living, the stress and just people getting sick and dying there is very few of them who love to be 100 years of age,” said Alan Bradshaw, her grandson.

Bradshaw currently has nine siblings, two children, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.

“I’ve had a happy time. I’ve loved a lot of people, a lot of my family, a lot of my family loved me,” Bradshaw said.

She moved to Odessa in 1949 and is now living at the Madison Medical Resort in Odessa, where she had her big party.

“She’s definitely an inspiration to our family, she tells us all the time ‘I don't know why I’m still here’,” Alan Bradshaw said.

Bradshaw has been a member of her church for over 60 years and says she loves reading the Bible.

“Her life is a real testament to the choices she's made. You make good choices you live a healthy productive life,” Alan Bradshaw said.

A strong believer in hard worker, Bradshaw became a nurse in 1957 making $1.25 an hour.

“I think that's a pretty good record, I think I’ve given a lot of my life to the public,” Bradshaw said. “Loving them, caring for them, taking care of them like they were my own children.”
