Odessa & Midland See Increase With This Month's Sale Tax Check

The state cuts its annual sales tax checks this week and both Midland and Odessa see increases.
MIDLAND/ODESSA, TX (Local Big 2 news) -- The state cuts its annual sales tax checks this week and both Midland and Odessa see increases.

The City of Odessa raked in $3,699,855.24 with its July check.

Odessa says this reflects a 16.91% increase over last July's check.

Officials add that the year-to-date total sales tax revenue for this fiscal year is up 24.04%.

The City of Midland pulled in $3,544,336 with its July check.

The city reports that's a 14.55% increase over last year's July check.

The Tall City also adds its year-to-date total sales tax revenue for the current fiscal year is up 12.39%
