MISD Substitute Teacher Terminated After Alleged Inappropriate Behavior

Midland, TX (Big 2 News) - "I definitely would not have expected it in an elementary school," said a mother who wished to remain anonymous.
Midland, TX (Big 2 News) - "I definitely would not have expected it in an elementary school," said a mother who wished to remain anonymous.

The string of alleged inappropriate teacher behavior with students continue.

Now, at Lamar Elementary in Midland.

This mother, who wished to remain anonymous, says her daughter was one of seven students who were inappropriately touched by a substitute teacher earlier this week.

"Seven and eight-year-olds are defenseless. Especially against people that they think are, supposed to be their teachers and their protectors and, it's just not right," the mother said.

The mother says the substitute teacher touched her second grade daughter and other students, by massaging their shoulders, rubbing their hands, and..

"From what I understand, he stuck his hand up the back of my daughter's shirt," the mother said.

She and another mother questioned Lamar Elementary administrators, recording the conversation.

The mother says the administrator she talked to revealed something else startling.

"First of all we were informed it's the principal's dad," the mother said.

"Well you know...that's true," who the mother said a school administrator told her.

The alleged abuse is causing other mothers to question their children's safety.

Erica Rodriguez, a mother of two young children, says she's now questioning her choice of schools.

"To know it happened at the school I wanna enroll my kids at, kind of makes me feel uncomfortable," Rodriguez said.

Both concerned mothers tell me they just want an end to all of this.

"I would just hope that it stops, so you know, it's not the kid's fault," Rodriguez said.

Local Big 2 talked to Midland Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Ryder Warren.

He says, "We did not find in our investigation anything that would be criminal.."

But added the substitute "did cross a line resulting in his termination."
