MCRW Change Meeting Venue with April Luncheon

The meeting venue is changing for the Midland County Republican Women.
MIDLAND, TX (BIG 2 NEWS) -- The meeting venue is changing for the Midland County Republican Women.

The organization's April luncheon was held Wednesday at the Double Tree Hilton along Wall Street.

Club leaders say MCRW is the largest of its kind in the entire nation. They say their membership topped 600 last year, and they hope to grow to 700 members this year.

Their size can make it challenging to find a venue.

"We probably will be moving out to Midland County Club," explained MCRW President Rhonda Lacy. "We would have loved to have stayed at the Petroleum Club, the members wanted us to, but the board of directors said it just wasn't in their bylaws any longer."

The club hosted almost half a dozen speakers at today's luncheon, including Lt. Governor David Dewhurst and state Comptroller Susan Combs.
