Local Nonprofit Reaches Milestone After Dedicating New Home to Local Family

Tamela Tryon is now a homeowner after a little help from our local Habitat for Humanity chapter.
MIDLAND, TX (Local Big 2 News) - A local non-profit helps open the door to a brand new home for one family and reaches a milestone in the process.

Habitat for Humanity handed over a set of keys to Tamela Tryon and her children in Midland on Thursday.

This makes it more than 500 homes that Habitat for Humanity has placed people in since 1994.

"It was just a joy, a blessing to walk in and say 'This is my house, and I don't have to rent anymore, this is mine,'" Tryon says.

"So, I was very happy."

Habitat for Humanity's goal is to eliminate poverty housing worldwide. To date it's built over 175,000 homes worldwide.
