Local Hospital Takes Part in 'Wound Care Awareness Week'

It's the first year for 'Wound Care Awareness Week', and one local hospital is joining hundreds more, nationwide to take part.
MIDLAND, TEXAS (Local Big 2 News) - As part of 'Wound Care Awareness Week', one local hospital is joining others nationwide to identify patients who might benefit from advanced wound care.

The Wound Care Center at Midland Memorial Hospital, a member of the Healogics network, will send its program directors to local physicians.

During these visits, care center directors will be educating doctors on how to care for chronic wounds.

We're told chronic wounds can lead to a lower quality of life and possibly amputation of the affected limb.
