Last-Minute Enrollment Creates First-Day Frustration at Midland High

Long lines and crowded parking lots led to a few upset parents at Midland High School on Wednesday.
MIDLAND, TX (Local Big 2 News) - Midland ISD students return from summer vacation, and some were welcomed with long lines and crowded parking lots as they waited to enroll.

"It's a long, long time to enroll my kid," Midland High parent Rachel Salinas says.

"I think that it's a very good school, but I don't know what happened today."

Frustrated parents and students tell Local Big 2 News that they had to wait for up to three hours at Midland High School, before beginning their last-minute enrollment process and getting the kids to class.

MHS principal Carlin Grammer says getting to the school early Thursday morning might be the best way to avoid a long wait if you still need to enroll your child.

The process takes a little while and so we're just asking parents to be patient with us," Grammer says.

"We'll get to them as quick as we can."
