House Fire Kills Two Family Pets

A house fire in Midland killed two family pets on Thursday.
Midland, TX (Big 2 News) - A fire at a home in Midland took the lives of two family pets on Thursday.

The home on the corner of Neely Ave. and Terrace Ave. caught fire around 1:30 in the afternoon.

Sara Higgins, Public Information Officer for the City of Midland, says fire fighters were able to get the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.

No people were injured, but two dogs that were inside the home were killed in the fire.

Investigators are still looking into the cause, but Higgins tells us it is believed to have started in the kitchen, spreading to the attic.

Higgins says the home was about 25 to 30 percent damaged.

We're told the family has found a place to stay until repairs can be made.
