Former OPD Officer Arrested Again, Facing Seventh Charge

The former Odessa Police officer accused of grouping women while on duty is now facing an additional charge of improper sexual activity with a person in custody.
ODESSA, TX (Big 2 News) -- The former Odessa Police officer accused of groping women while on duty is now facing an additional charge of improper sexual activity with a person in custody.

According to court records, Salvador Becerra is now facing seven charges.

Ector County District Attorney, Bobby Bland, issues the following statement regarding Becerra's indictment:

On Tuesday, May 27, 2014, the Grand Jury returned an indictment against former Odessa police officer, Salvador Becerra, for six (6) counts of improper sexual activity with a person in custody and one (1) count of sexual assault. The indictment includes one count of improper sexual activity for which he had not previously been charged. Salvador Becerra was arrested and is being held in the Ector County Jail in lieu of a $125,000.00 bond.

U.S. Marshals tell us Becerra was arrested Thursday for this additional charge.

Becerra was first arrested in early March on two felony charges and then fired from OPD.

As the investigation into Becerra's actions continued, additional charges were filled against him.
