Caterpillars Delivered Ahead of Annual Butterfly Release

Home Hospice is preparing for Butterfly Release to celebrate loved ones lost.
MIDLAND, TX (Big 2 News) -- Home Hospice is preparing for Butterfly Release to celebrate loved ones lost.

Here's the full media release from Home Hospice:

At Home Hospice we believe every person should be remembered for how they have graced our histories and our continued lives. Traditionally, the butterfly has been recognized as a symbol of hope, new life and resurrection.

Students from Washington Elementary in Midland and students from Odessa, Big Spring and Andrews will be growing butterflies not only as a special project for Earth Day, but also to tie into the Hospice House Foundation's Butterfly Release and Family Celebration. This collaboration will allow participating children to share their discoveries about the beautiful creatures with families during the memorial.

Classroom teachers will be available for news stories if you would like to cover this unique project from caterpillar to release. Please call me at 580-9990 to set up an interview.

Midland's caterpillars will be delivered Friday, April 4th at 10:30am to
Washington Elementary - 1800 E. Wall Street, Midland
The Butterfly Release and Family Celebrations will be held in Odessa, Big Spring, Midland, and Andrews for anyone who wishes to cherish their loved one, by sharing their stories and memories during a public memorial. The events are absolutely free to attend!

ODESSA - April 26th , 2-4pm: Globe Theatre, 2308 Shakespeare Rd
BIG SPRING - April 27th , 2-4pm: Dora Roberts Community Center
MIDLAND - May 3rd , 2-4pm: Carrasco Room, Midland College
ANDREWS - May 4th , 2-4pm: Pioneer Park Community Bldg, 106 NE 6th

Names will be read during a memorial service, and butterflies will be released as a way to say "thank you" for the way our lives have been brightened. There will be live musical entertainment and refreshments. Live butterflies will be available for those who wish to provide a $25 donation to the Hospice House Foundation [501(c)(3)].
Hundreds of Permian Basin families participated in our memorials last year - and continue to talk about the impact. Please join us for the events - they promise to be even more memorable this year!
