Midland, TX (Big 2 News) - Police responded to a call they received Thursday morning about a body found west of the Petroleum Museum.

According to Midland police, the body was identified as 31-year-old Gregory Donaghe.

"The last time Mr. Donaghe was seen, he made a purchase at a Walmart and then walked across the street to Park Glenn Apartments where he was residing at the time," Sara Higgins, public information officer for the City of Midland.

Donaghe was first reported missing on December 29th of last year.

Police say Donaghe started walking west of Walmart, towards his apartment, just a few hundred yards away. But, police are still unsure just how Donaghe's body ended up past his apartment, 150-yards west of the Petroleum Museum.

According to a Facebook page created to help in finding Donaghe, Donaghe was a former marine and a father of three.

Higgins says police are not sure how long Donaghe's body had been out in the field for.

"His body was actually found on the west side of the petroleum museum. The apartment complex he was residing in at the time was actually to the east of the Petroleum Museum."

Higgins says this incident is still being investigated.

"Midland Police Detectives will pursue a dead body investigation as a possible homicide, that's just our protocol."
