Odessa, TX (Local Big 2 News) - Bikers in Odessa got together to ride for a cure Saturday morning.

The Muscular Dystrohpy Association held it's sixth annual Ride for the Cure.

Muscular dystrophy is a term for a group of progressive muscle diseases. MDA raises money to fund world wide research.

Event organizers say this year was the best turn out for riders with more than a hundred bikers.

Organizers say all the money raised is put towards the local MDA.

"Seventy-seven cents of every dollar raised goes directly to research, summer camp for our kids, it goes to medical equipment, it goes to our clinic in Lubbock and support groups as well," said Stephanie Hartlieb, associate executive director for Muscular Dystrophy Association

Harley Davidson sponsored the ride, which also hosted a local band from Andrews.

The fundraiser also included a raffle drawing for several prizes including a new Harley.
