After a string of days in the 100 degree range for high temperatures, a cold front will slowly work its way into the Permian Basin on Tuesday and Wednesday. Along with the front, will come an increased risk for showers and thunderstorms, especially Tuesday evening and overnight. Any storm that forms could produce strong gusty winds, hail, and frequent lightning. Behind the front on Wednesday, temperatures will return to seasonable levels in the middle 90's for highs. Storm chances will decrease on Thursday and Friday just in time for fourth of July celebrations.
