UPDATE: Authorities Release Name of Driver Killed in Midland Crash

Authorities have released the name of the person killed in the Wednesday night crash at Business 20 and Loop 250 in Midland.
UPDATE from Midland Police:

One man was pronounced deceased after an accident on Highway 80 late Wednesday evening.

Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene of a one-vehicle accident in the 5600 block of Business Interstate 20 at approximately 9:19 p.m. Wednesday evening. The investigation found that Miguel Angel Vallejo, 19, of Odessa, had been traveling eastbound on Business Interstate 20 when he lost control of the vehicle, veering to the north across an unprotected median and two westbound lanes, before striking a traffic signal pole near the west service road of Loop 250. Vallejo was ejected from the vehicle during the accident and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Witnesses advised police that Vallejo was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. The investigation is ongoing and next of kin has been notified.
