Greenwood, TX (Local Big 2 Sports) - "We got to be better at catching the ball; we weren't very good at that last year. We had way too many drops", said Greenwood High School Head Coach, Shad Hanna.
6'5 Greenwood Wide Receiver Bryce Thompson says the team wants to avoid another 2-8 season, therefore Coach Hanna made the necessary adjustments.
"He’s changed his approach a lot this season. We've got a lot more team rules, he's got it set to where were going to do great things", said Bryce Thompson.
Thompson says the weakness of last year's squad was they did not play as a team.
The Rangers learned from their mistakes and ready for a major turnaround.
"Our goal is to make the playoffs", said Hanna.
Thompson is on the same page.
"We want to win a district championship which has been a really big goal of mine since my freshman year", said Thompson.
That dream may come true because of the variety of calls on offense.
"We got a few more offensive plays in the playbook we got were ready", said Thompson.
The team picked up on the game plan quickly because of their familiarity of the playbook.
"We got quite a few returners back, guys that played significantly so we have a lot of carryover from last season", said Hanna.
